2013 Children’s Summer Camp

First and foremost, we thank God Almighty for making this year’s Children Summer Camp event a success and accident free, which brought together about 260 participants from various walks of life. The event was held on the grounds of S.S. Peter and Paul Major Seminary in Bodija, Ibadan from August 27th-29th, 2013. We had special speakers, a Gospel message, dancing competition, a talent show, swimming ,  games and more. Some of the games that we had were a 3-legged race, sack race, table tennis, water games, volleyball, trampoline, bouncy castle and parachute. Not only did the children have a lot of fun, but so did the adults. We had a 3-legged race and sack race for some of the caregivers and volunteers; it was a lot of fun. There was also some running races with the adults, and the children had fun cheering them on. Everyone enjoyed the water fights we had and most people were soaked!  The water gun fights was the highlight of the games.  Individuals were chased around, and some dunked in the swimming pool. Almost everyone was wet, but we all had a lot of fun.  Everyone in attendance enjoyed a daily snack pack, drinks and a hot meal. On the final day, every child went home with a gift suited to their age group. Medical teams and doctors from University College Hospital were in attendance as emergency personnel.

In attendance was the Commissioner of Information, Honourable Taiwo Otegbeye and some other dignitaries.  We would like to say a special thank you to all those that donated to this year’s camp –S.S. Peter and Paul Seminary for  allowing us to use their venue for free, MTN Nigeria for their cash donation, Nigeria Breweries for providing all the soft drinks we used for the three day event, Feyisetan Printing Press for his cash donation, Zartech, Farm Support, Nigerian Bottling Company,  makers of Indomie for providing us with lunch for all on the first day of the camp, Sumal Foods, Sweet Co, and Rite Foods. We would also like to say thank you to all the volunteers both international and local.  This year’s event was the best and with the most fun. Thank you for helping us put smiles on the faces of the less privileged children.
