My name is Salome Buehler, I came from Germany. I like children, visiting different countries and other cultures. I grew up in a very lovely home with all my siblings. It has been my passion to work with orphans and abused children. So I wanted to support children who didn’t grow up in an environment like mine I heard, about CHIPROM and choose to stay six months in Ibadan, Nigeria, arriving in October 2010. The lovely children and the entire mummy’s opened their arms in a warm welcome. The children here are taken very good care of, they get enough food, have a nice home with beautiful rooms for the children and they attended good schools. I helped the mummy to take care of the babies, support the school children with their assignments. We really had a very good time together. We played different games and I teach them how to create boxes and envelopes during creativity time. I realized that in order to give a child a good childhood to remember, we need love, time for special activities, passion for the children and money to buy food, supplies, school materials, clothes etc.
I also helped the Manager in the office to write letters of support or sponsorship. We visited many companies, it is nice to see how many companies and private persons responded to the needs of the children. I saw so many good changes for the home and the children. CHIPROM is really well organized and everyone who is involved in this orphanage can see how lucky the children are to live and grow in a very nice environment. It is lovely to see how the little ones are growing and the older ones developing are developing in their education and personal lives. All of the children are in my heart, so it is hard to say goodbye I will never forget my experience and CHIPROM. I hope the very best for their life and will be praying for them.
